It was very scarry for what had happened in Japan last Friday. It looks a lot worse than the Tsunami in 2004. We did what our worried children asked us to do. "Going home" was a sensible choice to do under circumstances. We also felt uncomfortable to continue enjoying with our trip knowing that hundreds of thousand of people not far away in Japan are suffering badly. My sympathy goes to those in Japan.
Last Friday night, there were Tsunami alerts and evacuations in 20 provinces in the north & east coastal areas of the Philippines (far away from MNL) but thank goodness, nothing bad happened and the alerts were lifted the next morning.
The Philippines sits on the same belt " Pacific Ring of Fire" and often suffers from earthquake and Tsunami too. With the recent major quakes further south in Christchurch, New Zealand 3 weeks ago and now further north in Japan, it is a worrying time for many in the Phil. We can only hope that the Eurasian and the Pacific tectonic plates are now settled enough for sometime to come.
BTW, K. Sontaya,...you said your son Peewarong is flying routes to China, Japan & India, is he ok?
