BTW:, the annotation "XOX" (X=Kisses & O=Hugs) is internationally known, acceptable and commonly use among good friends. Emmie & I have them sent to us all the time. It is a good gesture and have no ill-meaning in it!
"Kisses & hugs" is also a common practice for real over here too. Other than the first time, when you meet or visit good friends. the hosts will welcome you with a big hug and a kiss on your cheek. You will also get hugs & kisses when you are leaving. Vise-versa, as a host, you are expected to do the same to your guests too.
So, don't be alarmed if your foriegn friends in Thailand suddenly give you a big hug and a kiss when you meet them! It's a good gesture and really nothing more than that!, ok? :D
Emmie & I gave Sontaya & Ying big hugs & kisses everytime when we visited them in Chiengmai! K. Sontaya hasn't punch me so far!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:
